Meet our Tutors

Richard Vincent

Originally from Devon, England, Richard has been teaching English for over sixteen years and has spent three years working as a teacher trainer. He has not only taught in Spain but also in Finland and South Korea . He has also spent short periods teaching Content and Language Integrated Learning in India, Cambodia and Thailand.  In total he has amassed nearly 15,000 teaching hours and has experience teaching general, business and exam English classes.

Presently he is a Cambridge Oral Examiner and CELTA Main Course Tutor at the Institute of Modern Languages. He obtained the Trinity TESOL certificate in the nineties and also holds the Trinity College London Licentiate Diploma in TESOL.

He has a passion for equipping students with the right tools to be able to communicate confidently and meaningfully . One of the key things that he likes about teacher training is teaching people how to break down language and put it across clearly and simply.

His interests include black and white photography, listening to classical music and entertaining his two young children. Richard has been known to do a bit of exercise from time to time, but this is only a rumour!

 

 

 

 

 

Monica Czernek

This year Monika’s celebrating her 15th anniversary in TEFL. She has been teaching English as a Foreign Language in four different countries, at all levels, ages, various socio-cultural contexts, in groups, individual students, in companies, has prepared for Cambridge Exams, has worked at summer camps in on-line study centres and she absolutely loves what she does!

Monika currently works as a CELTA course tutor and is also a Cambridge Oral Examiner. She obtained a BA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, an MA in TEFL and in Applied Language Studies from London Metropolitan University and also has Qualified Teacher Status from the UK.

Before she joined IML, she worked as a teacher trainer for two years in Granada.

Working with people, facilitating students’ learning, and helping them succeed in learning the language is what Monika likes most about teaching and teacher training.

She loves rock climbing, snowboarding, trekking and yoga. Her baby son and three dogs keep Monika very busy at weekends.
